New Business Account Manager, Mobile Apps & Games

At Maple Media, M&A Associates drive strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities with mobile app and game developers from around the world. A deep understanding of mobile, mobile apps, ad tech, financial analysis and analytics is a must.

The Role: 

To date, Maple Media has developed partnerships and/or acquired apps from developers located in 25 different countries. The core function of this role is to identify, build relationships with, and assess high quality mobile app businesses, which fit into Maple Media’s portfolio and strategies. There is a heavy focus and need for this person to have mobile developer relationships, mobile app product experience, enjoy playing mobile games, analytics chops and an advance understanding of the general mobile apps ecosystem – or willingness to rapidly learn.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify new strategic partnership and acquisition opportunities in the mobile app space for Maple Media based on our strategy and buying criteria
  • Cold call and email prospects, and work towards building relationships in the industry
  • Structure, negotiate and close partnerships and acquisitions
  • Gather, organize and evaluate data, KPIs and financials

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passion for mobile, mobile games, mobile ad-tech, product management/development and driving overall growth
  • Knowledge of the mobile ad-tech and ad-serving ecosystem and business models
  • Knowledge of the game developer services ecosystem
  • Proven ability to structure, negotiate and execute complex strategic partnerships that create significant value for stakeholders
  • Great teamwork and interpersonal skills, including strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and an embedded drive for results
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding objectives
  • 1-3+ years of strong experience working on mobile apps, mobile advertising, mobile account management, mobile business development, or mobile game publishing
  • Experience and comfort with the technical aspect of mobile app development
  • Self-starter who can operate with minimal oversight
  • Extensive database of senior contacts and the ability to network to get to anyone
  • Knowledge of mobile app and game developers and who the key players are

Marketing Manger, Mobile Apps & Games

The Role: 

Maple Media is looking for a Marketing Manager with experience in Mobile Apps & Games to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for a performance centric marketer to work on and assist in leading marketing initiatives! This role will support themarketing team’s efforts on developing innovative ways to capture the minds and eyes of users through multiple channels such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the organization and creation of platform content, optimization, reporting/analytics, content development and updates to assigned social media channels working with agency and internal partners
  • Social Media strategy, creation and scheduling
  • Serve as a social media expert within the company, maintaining a cutting edge understanding of best practices, features, strategies, and tactics
  • Build campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Email marketing creation and execution
  • Understanding of the OTT landscape and ecosystem
  • Day-to-day management of social media profiles, campaigns, community engagement, website
  • Being able to manage and work with outside parties on a daily basis
  • Tracking and reconciling digital marketing budgets

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in digital marketing operations
  • BA/BS degree in Marketing or related field
  • Strong entry-level or internship experience
  • 1-3 years of strong marketing or strategic partnership experience
  • Passion for mobile, mobile games, mobile ad-tech, product management/development and driving overall growth
  • Communicative, with a willingness to work across many departments and objectively prioritize (marketing, business development, engineering, product, finance, and management)
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, HTML, and email marketing software (Constant Contact/Mailchimp)
  • Motivated to identify missing opportunities and take them on as your own
  • Fluency in digital media platforms – paid + organic
  • Previous use of social media platforms
  • Ability to multi-talk and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Working well in a team environment or third-party vendors with strong communication skills
  • Great teamwork and interpersonal skills, including strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and an embedded drive for results
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding objectives

Android Engineer

The Role: 

Maple Media is seeking a talented full-stack Android engineer to manage the technical functions of several mobile apps and games within our portfolio.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to have a large impact building top ranked apps and games on Google Play that reach more than 1.5M DAU. Check out many of our apps at maplemedia.io.

We’re looking for a Java whiz with full-stack experience, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work closely with our product, design, QA teams and other engineers to meaningfully advance our products, including new apps that we acquire. You should be someone who excited by the challenge of jumping into new codebases often, has a startup mindset, is always looking for new things to learn and takes pride in the products you build.

This role is based in our rapidly growing studio in Gatineau, Quebec.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Must be based in – or willing to move to – Gatineau, Quebec

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent years of relevant work experience)
  • Strong programming experience in Java, Kotlin, & Android app development. Experience in game engines (LibGDX, Unity) also a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDKs, different versions of Android, and how to manage different screen sizes
  • Experience integrating ad tech and ad network SDKs (including: Admob, Mopub, Facebook, Amazon)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines

Director of Product Marketing, Mobile Apps & Games

The Role: 

Maple Media is looking for a Product Marketing Manager with experience in Mobile Games to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for a performance centric marketer to work on and lead the marketing initiatives! This role will support the marketing team’s efforts on player acquisition campaigns, coordinate with marketing designers to come up with the next eye catching creative, and manage budgets and marketing strategy. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a background in online advertising, specifically paid mobile app acquisition.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage strategic initiatives for all areas of marketing including paid user acquisition (UA), cross promotion, app store optimization (ASO), social media campaigns, in-app sales, app store featuring proposals, push notification strategies and additional distribution strategies.
  • Generate creative marketing campaign concepts that augment the core value of our products and educate / attract users to our apps
  • Be the trusted voice in surfacing qualitative and quantitative customer insights to shape product direction, ensure product-market fit and scale adoption
  • Analyze performance of all marketing programs (including ad spend) to identify the best opportunities for optimization, and regularly iterate to improve and maximize performance.
  • Work closely with game teams to provide detailed marketing forecasts on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis.
  • Promote product growth by leading cross-functional team discussions between Product, Strategy, User Acquisition, and other teams.
  • Analyze performance and measure ROI of all marketing activations including UA, cross promo, ASO, and all other marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the broader creative experiences ecosystem and competitive landscape to develop strategic product feedback, positioning and messaging
  • Be a “marketing ambassador” between the central marketing teams and game teams. Ensure goals and incentives are aligned across all teams – focusing on the biggest opportunities for Maple Media.
  • Help onboard new acquisitions and develop new marketing strategies for each mobile app & game company we acquire

 

Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing for mobile games or related field.
  • High proficiency in owning ASO strategies and execution, including keyword optimizations, localizations, creative optimizations, and App Store description copywriting.
  • High proficiency in developing UA and cross promo strategies.
  • Experience running UA and advertising campaigns a plus, especially experience using self serve platforms including Apple Search Ads, Google Ads, Facebook Ads & mobile video networks
  • Familiarity and experience with live operations and server side control of mobile products, via Firebase or other user lifecycle management tools
  • Deep knowledge of the mobile marketing / tech stack, including push notifications, attribution, install tracking, analytics platforms, deeplinking & more
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative modeling skills.
  • Experience in running A/B tests and deriving at actionable recommendations.
  • Experience in project & calendar management and managing small scale projects.
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills – effecting cross-functional driver.
  • Great written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to be flexible on a day to day basis with task priority.
  • Previous start-up, games and/or social media experience is a strong plus – especially in mobile
